Once a month, MBL opens its studio doors for an intimate, hands-on makeup workshop designed for beginners through to intermediate — and each night is dedicated to one signature look. Arrive to a welcome glass of bubbles, take a seat at your fully set-up station, and spend the evening working through a complete look step by step with MBL lead artist Em.
Every product and brush on your station is provided by our sponsor Runway Room Cosmetics — so you're learning on professional tools from the moment you walk in. No experience needed. No stress. Just a really good night.

Smokey Eye Night

The smokey eye — done properly, broken down simply. Em has designed this workshop specifically for beginners through to intermediate, so every step is explained clearly and at your own pace. You'll learn how to build depth, blend without patchiness, and adapt the look to your own eye shape. Leave knowing how to actually recreate this at home — not just once, but every time.

How the night works
This isn't a demo you watch from a distance — it's a proper workshop. Your station is fully set up with Runway Room products and brushes when you arrive. Em walks the room, talking you through each step of the look and making sure every guest is keeping up and feeling confident before moving on. The group is kept intentionally small so you get real guidance, not just a show.
By the end of the night you'll have completed the full look yourself — on your own face, with your own hands — and you'll know exactly how to do it again.

Is this suitable for beginners?
Yes — this workshop has been specifically designed for beginners through to intermediate. You don't need any prior experience, just a willingness to have a go.
Do I need to bring anything?
Nothing at all. Every product, brush, and tool is provided at your station by Runway Room Cosmetics. Just bring yourself — and maybe a friend.
How many people are in each session?
We keep numbers deliberately small so every guest gets proper attention and guidance throughout the night. Once it's sold out, it's sold out.
Can I come with friends?
Absolutely — it's even more fun in a group. Just make sure each person purchases their own ticket.
What nibbles are provided?
We'll have light nibbles on the tables throughout the night. BYO any extra drinks beyond your welcome glass of bubbles.
What's in the goodie bag?
We'll keep that a little surprise — but you won't leave disappointed.
Can I buy the products used on the night?
Yes! Runway Room products will be available to purchase on the night at an exclusive discount for Tipsy Tutorials guests only.
Is there parking nearby?
Street parking is available on Union Road and surrounding streets. MBL is also a short walk from Moonee Ponds station.
What's your cancellation policy?
Tickets are non-refundable but transferable. If you can no longer make it, you're welcome to pass your ticket to a friend.
